Purple House’s ‘Moving Beyond Cancer’ course will start on October 17.

The course is for anyone one year or more post treatment and covers adapting to changes post-illness, new perspectiv­es, building self-esteem, self care strategies and more.

This is a confidenti­al, closed group, run by Purple House counsellor­s and therapists. The course starts on Tuesday, October 18, from 7 p.m. in Purple House, Bray. All the family will also enjoy meeting Robby the Christmas Robin with kids wildlife guru Dale Treadwell at Powerscour­t Garden Pavilion. Dale will be reading his children’s books ‘Robby the Christmas Robin’ and ‘Harry the Hedgehog’ as part of fun interactiv­e Christmas activities.

Mental health organisati­on Awarehosts a support group every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in the Villa Pacis Centre, on the grounds of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on Putland Road in Bray.

Aware support groups offer individual­s the opportunit­y to talk openly about depression, bipolar and other related mood disorders and their impact.
