Speeding

A motorist with an Arklow address was docked €300 by way of a fine imposed at the District Court in Gorey last Thursday.

The judge learned that Thomas Byrne from Vale Road in Arklow was detected travelling at 97 km/h where the general 80 km/h limit applied at Wells Hill on the morning of January 12 last. The level of fine was set in the light of the fact that the defendant was not present in court.
