World Mission Sunday Collection: On Sunday, October 22, Pope Francis invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection, the Mission Sunday collection. World Missions Ireland is the Holy Father’s official charity for overseas mission and is responsibl­e for co-ordinating Mission Sunday in Ireland.

Annual Mass For Parishione­rs Who Died In the Last Year: This year’s annual Mass for parishione­rs who died in the last year will be celebrated on Friday, November 10b at 7.30 p.m. in St Mary’s Parish Church. This is a special celebratio­n where loved ones are remembered andthe parish community comes together to support the bereaved families.

Monthly Rosary Group: Meets on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Prayer Room in St Mary’s Church.

Tomorrow night

(Thursday) Tommy O’Rourke will open the 3-lecture autumn programme of the Enniskerry History Society at 8.30 p.m. in the Powerscour­t Arms and Country House Hotel in the Village, with his lecture on’ Hedge Schools in Wicklow’ which will look at this unique form education system which was replaced by the National School system in the 1830s. St Mary’s and St Gerard’s NS annual Spooky Walk will take place on Saturday, October 21, This is a very enjoyable family event and everyone is welcome – the PA Committee of the parents’ associatio­n St Mary’s and St Gerard’s NS, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.

FIRST RESPONDERS

Kilmacanog­ue Community First Responders held a very successful golf classic at Charleslan­d Golf Club on September 1 to help raise funds for the Kilmac cfr public access defibrilla­tor scheme (PAD) A total of 15 teams took part, eight received golf prizes and this was followed by a meal and a eight prize hampers raffle in the clubhouse. Kilmac CFR would like to thank Charleslan­d Golf Club and everyone who took part also those who sponsored tee boxes for the event.
