Fancy dress night for My Canine Companion

-

A fancy-dress charity night in aid of My Canine Companion will be held in memory of Sean Madden on Friday, October 27 in the Porterhouse at 8 p.m.

Smiley’s charity events was set up by Monica Madden who lost her son Sean in a car crash in July 2014. One of Sean’s favourite times of the year was Halloween. He always got dressed up and really got into the spirit of things, because of this a fancy dress night has been held in his memory every year.

People are encouraged to dress up as there will be prizes for best dressed on the night, however, it is not essential to do so. There will be a raffle on the night with many fabulous prizes including an annual family pass to Dublin zoo, a night for two in a hotel and many more. Admission is €10 which you pay at the door.

Organisers chose to support My Canine Companion this year. The charity trains companion dogs for children with autism.

These dogs are a lifeline for both the child and their families and they make a huge difference to their quality of life. Each dog costs €10,000 to train and the charity receives no funding at all, so events like this really help them out.
