Jailedfor trespass

A man who was arrested for trespassin­g was sentenced to three months in prison. Gary Culhane , 20 St Columbanus Avenue, Milltown, Dublin 14, appeared in Bray District Court last Thursday.

The court heard that gardai were on mobile patrol on Meath road on June 17 at around 9 p.m. when they received a report of a male in gardens.

They saw Culhane at the rear of Bray Manor Nursing Home. He jumped over the gate towards gardai and gave no reason for being there.

The court heard that Culhane has 97 previous conviction­s, including 40 for theft. Solicitor Dermot Hickey said that his client had a very serious heroin problem in the past but is clean now.

Mr Hickey said that his client is a father of three, and wants to be part of his children’s lives going forward. He is halfway through a drug awareness course which he said is an eye-opener.
