Meeting on policing communities

THE second Co Wicklow PPN Members Meeting of 2017 will focus on Policing, Safety and Security.

Community and voluntary groups will find out about the Co Wicklow Joint Policing Committee and the Wicklow County Council Joint Policing Strategic Plan 2016-2020. The key objectives of the plan are: policing communities; tackling crime in rural areas; drug prevention; and a communication strategy for the joint policing committee.

Groups will also find out about the community text alert scheme and how they can set them up in their communities.

Co Wicklow PPN has seven community seats on the Joint Policing Committee (JPC) and the discussions from this meeting will inform and support them to bring issues, concerns and ideas to the JPC meetings.

The event will take place on Monday, October 23, at 7 p.m. sharp in The Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.

Places are limited with member groups having preference so people are encouraged to register their interest to attend.
