HOLY REDEEMER PARISH

First Communion Mass – Do This In Memory: This Sunday there will be a Holy Communion Programme Mass for all children making their First Holy Communion in 2018. We look forward to seeing the boys and girls and their parents or guardians for this special Mass.

Homelink church gate collection: Homelink would like to thank the parishione­rs of Holy Redeemer for their generosity at the recent weekend collection which raised €1,129.10 for their charity. As Homelink has to fundraise to meet the running costs of the programme, they really appreciate the help and support of the parish.

Garda Vetting: As each of our parish volunteer groups receive their invitation to Garda vetting forms, we would encourage you to drop your completed forms in to the parish office as soon as possible. Please note Garda vetting is a Two stage process. Stage one is an invitation to vetting and stage two of the process involves a form which you complete online. If you do not complete this form within 30 days it becomes invalid and you will have to re-apply. If you have any questions with regard the process – please call in to the parish office Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

World Mission Sunday Collection This Sunday: Pope Francis invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection, the Mission Sunday Collection. World Missions Ireland is the Holy Father’s official charity for overseas mission and is responsibl­e for coordinati­ng Mission Sunday in Ireland. Please note the Mass will be televised this Sunday at 11 a.m. on RTÉ one on behalf of World Missions Ireland.

Do This in Memory Mass: Will take place this Sunday at 11.30 a.m. in our Church. All children to attend.

St Fergal’s Men’s Choir: Will sing at this Sundays 11.30 a.m. Mass in St Peter’s Church.

November Altar List of the Dead: The envelopes for the November Altar list of the dead are available at the back of the church. All those whose names are listed will be remembered at Masses on the feast of All Saints, All Souls and the First Friday of each month. Please return envelopes to the sacristy or the parish office.

Altar List of the Dead – Envelopes and Sheets: Altar list of the dead envelopes and sheets are available at the back of the church. All, whose names are listed will be remembered at Masses on the feast of All Saints, the feast of All Souls, and at the 9.30 a.m. Mass on the First Monday of each month throughout the year. On Tuesday, November 14, at 7.30 p.m. we will remember all of our parishione­rs who have died during the past year.

Gospel Choir: St Fergal’s Gospel Choir are looking for a keyboard player, and for new members. Gospel music is uplifting and inspiring. So, if you are interested in joining the group please leave your contact details at the parish office. Many Thanks.

Parish Christmas Cards: Packs of assorted Parish Christmas Cards are available to purchase in the church after all Masses and the parish office. €4 for six cards. Those, who receive the cards will be remembered in the Christmas Masses being offered in the parish.

St Fergal’s Christmas Raffle 2017 – Great Prizes to be won.: First Prize – 32’ Walker – Flat Screen TV; second prize – Limited Edition Giclée Print by Peter Growney; third prize – Powerscour­t Golf Club four Ball Green Fees Voucher; fourth prize – €100 Gift Bond for Whelan’s Craft Butchers; Fifth prize – Luxury Christmas Hamper; sixth prize – six Bottles of Wine plus many more prizes. Tickets will be on sale in the church this weekend and in the parish office. €1 per ticket or book of six for €5. The draw will take place in the church after the Christmas Carol Concert on Saturday, December 16, World Mission Sunday This Sunday: This weekend we celebrate Mission Sunday and remember the many priests, sisters, and lay people who have gone to different countries through the world to help in whatever way they can to spread the Gospel. This annual appeal will replace the usual Share Collection.

OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE

Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish dinner dance: Takes place in Bray Golf Club this Friday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets €25 are available from Villa Pacis.

Welcome to Eucharisti­c Adoration: We invite you to commit to one hour per week. If you currently attend but are not signed up, we would encourage you to become part of the official rota as we need to ensure that each hour is covered. Signing up is easy. There are cards and informatio­n at the special display at the back of the church. Please fill in one of the cards and leave it in the box provided.

Annual Remembranc­e Mass: Our annual Remembranc­e Mass for all who have died during the past year will take place this year on Saturday, November 11, at 6.30 p.m. in our Church. All those who have suffered a bereavemen­t are very welcome to attend. Light refreshmen­ts will be served afterwards in the Villa Pacis.

Special Congratula­tions: Congratula­tions are extended to Maeve Madigan, one of our former altar servers and student of Loreto College, who has graduated from Trinity College and won a scholarshi­p to study a postgradua­te degree in Theoretica­l Physics and maths in Cambridge University. Well done, Maeve.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

It truly was a great celebratio­n night for the Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club in the Esplanade Hotel with the extended families of the Temples, Kerrs, club committee, parents, committee members, supporters, and founder members.

The club is very well prepared to continue working for the community and many of those now with the organisati­on can expect to be there for the 75th celebra- tion. Thanks are extended to all involved.

DIVING CLUB

Bray Divers Sub-Aqua Club will be running two courses in November. Both will be limited to six participan­ts. One is to start on November 18 for scuba diving, and the other one is to give free introducti­on in snorkellin­g to groups from various community organisati­ons. Homelink are a Bray-based charity who support older people with daily/weekly or monthly telephone calls, small maintenanc­e jobs, the installati­on of security features, such as alarm pendants and regular social events. CUALANN SOCIETY

Tomorrow night (Thursday) Vandra Costello will be the guest speaker for the October meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, at 8 p.m. in the Royal Hotel, Bray at which she will present her lecture ‘Irish Demesne Landscapes 1660-1740.’ All welcome – members free – admission €5.
