The winner of Scoil Aodan Nofa Carnew split-the-pot of October 6 was Tristan Massey winning €271, tickets on sale from the school and local business.

HARVEST THANKSGIVI­NG

The annual Harvest Thanksgivi­ng Service will take place on Sunday, October 22, at 7 p.m. in All Saints Church Carnew, everyone welcome to come along.

BAZAAR

The annual Tinahely/Carnew Union of parishes Bazaar will take place in Coláiste Bhríde, Carnew, on Friday, October 27, at 7 p.m., with all the usual stalls, raffles, tea, cakes, vegetables, bottle stall and more, all welcome.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Jack Raleigh, Bunclody, who died during the week and was buried on Friday.

KNITTING/CROCHET

Our next knitting/crochet project will be fro Crumlin Hospital Intensive Care unit, booties, hats, mitts and blankets 24’ X 34’. A big thank you to all the people who have been contributi­ng to our knitting projects.

KILRUSH DRAMA

Kilrush Drama group are holding their autumn production in Ballyroebu­ck Hall from Tuesday, October 17, to Saturday, October 21, at 8.30 p.m. nightly, admission is €7. The first play is the Quiet Land by Malachy McKenna and will feature PJ Arthur and Maurice Ruth, the two longest serving members of the group. The second production is Bar and Ger written by Geraldine Aaron. This play is a complete contrast featuring the two newest members Olivia Matthews and David Dee, booking is essential by phoning 087 1429325.

POINT TO POINT

The Point to Point races will be held at Fairwood Tinahely on Sunday next, October 22. First race is at 2, 00 p.m.

COOLBOY GAA

Coolboy GAA Juveniles are holding their annual presentati­on evening on Friday, October 27, from six to 6.30 in the Little Moon Coolboy, followed at 7 p.m. by a family table quiz which is open to all in the locality. Your support as always is gratefully appreciate­d and ensures the future success of our juvenile club. We look forward to seeing you on the 27th. BINGO the next bingo is on Sunday, October 22, and November 5 in St Bridgid’s Hall, Carnew at 2.30 p.m., thanks to everyone for their support to date.

RACE NIGHT

There is a race night on November 11 in McCrea’s Carnew at 9 p.m., horses €10 available from any of the committee or local shops, all proceeds towards the Back Alley Community Project.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday October 22, the walk will be at Derrybawn (Grade B, 12km, 4 hours) meeting details TBC. On Sunday October 29, the walk will be at Mount Leinster (Grade B, 10km, 4 hours) meeting in Bunclody at 10 a.m. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. CABARET

The annual cabaret for Tomacork church will be held on Friday, November 3, in the usual venue, all welcome.

HALLOWEEN AT COOLATTIN

In an exciting joint venture between the Coolattin House Committee and the South Wicklow Drama Festival Committee Coolattin House will be open on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29,2017 for halloween tours for both adults and children. Tours will take place for Children Age six years and upwards from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The children’s guided tour of the house and grounds will include storytelli­ng, a Puppet Show and fun crafts will cost just €10 per person with All Children must be accompanie­d by an adult. Adult Guided Tours will take place from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

All visitors will have an opportunit­y to check out the nooks and crannies and experience the hidden secrets of the house and to meet some of the fascinatin­g characters who are coming along to bring the house to life for this one spooktacul­ar weekend.

Adults will have an added extra on the Sunday night with Dracula’s Ball taking place from 10 till late on the Sunday night. We would encourage people to get into the spirit of the occasion and come to Dracula’s Ball in Fancy Dress, but of course this is purely optional. There will be a prize for the best dressed.

Club AGM – The Coolboy GAA AGM will take place on Saturday, November 11, at 8 p.m. in Coolafancy Hall. All current members are asked to attend while new faces are always welcome.

Congratula­tions - Heartiest congratula­tions to Chris ‘Gonzo’ Doyle and Jerome Willoughby on winning the all-Ireland Junior B 60X30 Doubles recently.

10K RUN/5K FAMILY RUN

The newly formed Coolboy Community Field Developmen­t Group are hosting a 10K run on Sunday, November 12, starting at midday from the Little Moon, Coolboy. A family 5k run or walk will also be taking place. The entry fee is €10 for both the 10k run and the family 5k run or walk and all money raised will go towards the upgrading of the grounds. TABLE QUIZ

Coolboy GAA Juveniles are holding their annual presentati­on evening on Friday, October 27, 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. in the Little Moon Coolboy. It will be followed by a family table quiz at 7 p.m., which is open to everyone in the surroundin­g communitie­s near and far. Tables can consist of up to two adults and three children and cost €20. Please come along and enjoy an evening of fun and put your general knowledge to the test. There will be fantastic prizes to be won. Details can be found on our Facebook page.
