‘Single punch assault’ case

AN assault causing harm case was adjourned until December 13 so that Judge David Kennedy can receive another medical report on the victim.

A brief outline of the facts was presented to Arklow District Court on Wednesday, October 18.

Niall Gorman, 7 The Tindles, Tinahely, is alleged to have as- saulted another person outside Black Tom’s Tavern, Tinahely, on December 22, 2016.

He approached the injured party at a gateway and allegedly punched them, leaving them with an injury to their lip which required six stitches in St Vincent’s Hospital.

It was described in court as a ‘single punch’ assault.
