Anne Marie and Denis are cha, cha, champs
SATURDAY night was the moment of truth as participants in Strictly An Tóchar found out whether those seven weeks of hard-training had proved worth it.
A total of 29 dancers had to get on stage and ‘shake a leg’, mainly consisting of couples but there was also one routine involving three different dancers.
Each participant was asked to meet or exceed a fundraising target of €500, with all the proceeds going directly to
An Tóchar GAA Club.
Even before the big night on Saturday, each dancer had set about organising their own fundraisers, ranging from walks and music nights to table quizzes, golf outings and bag packs.
The event was totally sold out with well over 500 people packing out An Tóchar GAA Club in anticipation of some spills and thrills.
The dedication put into the preparations by the volunteers was clear to see by the high-standard of dancing they were able to produce, having only started training seven short weeks ago.
Impressive jives, tangos and waltzes all entertained the huge crowd, but Anne Mare Morris and Denis Healy performed a stunning ‘cha, cha, cha’ routine to land the overall Strictly An Tóchar crown as overall winners.
