Silver anniversary celebrated in style
GRAND Slam Bridge Club members marked the club’s landmark 25th year with a special silver anniversary dinner in the Lighthouse Restaurant in Wicklow town last week.
While the evening was attended by plenty of current members, there were also some former members present among the 33 people who sat down for the meal.
Two long-standing members of the club Tom O’Mahony and Joan McChainey thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Club founder Michael Ryan was also in attendance, as were Carol Wadden and Linda Walsh fellow-members since the beginning.
Grand Slam Bridge Club would welcome new members at 6.30 p.m. on any Wednesday evening in the Dominican Ecology campus. This beginner’s hour is still attracting great support.
It is hoped that by Christmas beginners would have collected enough basic knowledge to enable tentative adventure into the normal club competition.
