MUSIC FESTIVAL

The 62nd Kilcoole Music Festival will take place from Thursday, November 9, to Sunday, November 12, and from Thursday, November 16, to Sunday, November 19, in St Patrick’s Hall (The Forresters’ Hall) in Kilcoole. All Choral Competitio­ns will be held in Coláiste Chraobh Abhann.

The festival which was started in 1955 by Mary Kieran, the District Nurse, is one of the oldest and most renowned Music Festivals in the country. The aim of the festival is to provide a platform for children and adults to perform in public and attracts some of the most highly qualified adjudicato­rs in the country along with extremely talented competitor­s, both local and national.

SENIOR CITIZENS

Christmas party 2017 – This year’s party takes place on Saturday, December 9, in the Mill Room of Byrne’s Pub from 4 p.m. Any person from Kilcoole born in 1947 or before is eligible to attend and any such person who does not receive an invitation and would like to attend should contact Paul Kelly at 086 6014844 with their details or give them into the bar staff in Byrne’s Pub prior to the end of November.

Fundraisin­g Quiz Nights – The fundraisin­g Quiz Nights for the senior citizens Christmas party take place on Friday nights in the Mill Room on November 3 and November 17. A table of four is €20. Please support this worthy cause.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

The centre is available for bookings (e.g. classes, meetings, birthday parties). Bookings can be made via email kilcoolecc@gmail.com or by phone 01 2872017. The office is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. And is closed for lunch between 12.30 p.m and 1.15 p.m.

INDOOR BOWLS

Bowls takes place every Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. in St Patrick’s/Forrester’s Hall. New members are welcome.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

All are welcome to come along to the parent and toddler group at the community centre from 10.30 p.m. to midday every Wednesday. €2 per child.

BINGO

Bingo is held on Monday nights in St Patrick’s Hall at 8 p.m. Everybody is welcome.
