SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Billy Osborne, Kilcavan, who died during the week, his remains were removed to Carnew on Thursday for 2 p.m. Mass, followed by burial in Tomacork cemetery.

To the family and relatives of Jim Barnes, England and formely of Hillbrook, who died recently, his remains were removed to Carnew on Friday for 2 p.m. Mass, followed by burial in Coolfancy cemetery.

To Vaughan Quaid, Park Bridge his family and relatives on the death of his mother Isabel Quaid, New Zealand, who died recently.

BAZAAR

The annual Tinahely/Carnew Union of parishes Bazaar will take place in Coláiste Bhríde, Carnew, on Friday, October 27, at 7 p.m., with all the usual stalls, raffles, tea, cakes, vegetables, bottle stall and more, all welcome.

SPLIT THE POT

The winner of Scoil Aodan Nofa Carnew split-the-pot of October 13 was Sandra Peavoy, winning €278; tickets are on sale from the school and local business.

COMMUNITY CARE

Swimming is starting back on Mondays, leaving Community Care at midday and back at 2.20 p.m., anyone interested please contact Mary at 087 7950903 or office at 053 9426510 for more details.

Our next knitting/crochet pro- ject will be fro Crumlin Hospital Intensive Care unit, booties, hats, mitts and blankets 24’ X 34’. A big thank you to all the people who have been contributi­ng to our knitting projects.

COOLBOY JUVENILES

Coolboy Juveniles are holding their annual presentati­on evening on Friday, October 27, from 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. in the Little Moon Coolboy, followed at 7 p.m. by a family table quiz which is open to all in the locality. Your support as always is gratefully appreciate­d and ensures the future success of our juvenile club. We look forward to seeing you on the 27th.

RACE NIGHT

There is a race night on November 11 in McCrea’s Carnew at 9 p.m., horses €10 available from any of the committee or local shops, all proceeds towards the Back Alley Community Project.

CABARET

The annual cabaret for Tomacork church will be held on Friday, November 3, in the usual venue, all welcome.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday, October 29, the walk will be at Mount Leinster (Grade B, 10km, four hours) meeting in Bunclody at 10 a.m. On Sunday, November 5, the walk will be at Crossbridg­e and Ballycumbe­r (Grade B, 12km, 3.5 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10 a.m. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food and drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

HALLOWEEN AT COOLATTIN

Don’t miss this unique and exciting community event taking place in Coolattin House on this weekend October 28 and 29. Children’s Tours – will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Dorothy has once again been swooped up by a Tornado (Ophelia) and has been transporte­d to Coolattin House. Come along and help Dorothy find her way back to Kansas.

Tour will include crafts, face painting and Punch and Judy show. Only €10 per person. Booking essential: 087 6985275.
