Dr Patrick Wallace will deliver the next autumn lecture ‘The History of the National Museum of Ireland’ at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, in the Glenview Hotel. In 1974, at the age of 25, Dr Wallace was given responsibility for the Wood Quay excavations. He was appointed Director of the National Museum of Ireland in 1988, a post which he held till his retirement in 2012.
This promises to be a most interesting presentation. The National Museum displays Archaeological treasures from the Viking and Medieval periods, early Medieval Celtic Metalwork and numerous ancient treasures from Ireland and abroad.
Everyone is welcome to these Kilmacanogue History Society Lectures and they look forward to seeing you all on the night.
