Non-displayof taxdisc

A Shankill woman explained that there was difficulty with paperwork relating to road tax before she was fined €75 at Arklow District Court.

Mary Naughton of 216 Shanganagh Cliffs was charged with the non-display of a tax disc at Ballyrogan Lower, Arklow on December 13, 2016 and February 16, 2017.

The court heard that the defendant is entitled to free road tax due to her husband’s disability as she is his driver.

She said that there was a difficulty in processing the paperwork as modifications must be made to the vehicle.

There were no previous convictions.
