Update on Florentine centre

-

PLANS to appoint a contractor to the Florentine build will proceed when lawyers come back to the District Manager with documents.

District Manager Des O’Brien told members last Tuesday that he is still waiting for documents from the lawyers.

The dialogue stage is complete and he had hoped to receive papers last week but had not.

Mr O’Brien said that the selection process included a pre- qualification stage including evidence on ability to get finance, secure tenants and manage the centre afterwards.

A shortlist was then prepared and the competitive dialogue stage began, which included establishing the terms of the contract.

Points were allocated to potential contractors based on a number of factors, including cost, how fast they will complete the project, finish, drainage, plans for prospective tenants and marketing and management of the site.
