Perfect ten for Roundwood against Park Orient

Roundwood AFC hit the perfect ten on Sunday as they put Park Orient to the sword in their Andy McEvoy Premier 1 clash.

Patrick Woods and David Kavanagh both helped themselves to hat-tricks, while Damien Johnson, Glen Hughes, Keane Murphy and Declan Carstairs added a goal apiece.

Rathnew also had their shooting boots on as they romped to a 7-2 triumph over FC Lokomotiv.

Danny Quinn was the main man for the Village as he contributed four of that tally, with Michael Anthony Doyle, Johnny Byrne and Keith Doyle also getting in on the act.

The goals were flying in everywhere in the top flight as Ashford Rovers saw off St Peter’s 8-2 (see focus match).

Pat O’Toole Division 1B

Glencormac United moved to within a point of the summit of Division 1B with an 8-1 drubbing of Rathnew on Sunday.

Nathan Watters netted a hattrick for the Glens, with Ben O’Callaghan, Luke O’Callaghan, James Delahunty, Stephen Kirwan and an own goal adding to their tally, while Evan Doyle grabbed a consolation for the Village.

Bohs Supporters Club held on to top spot thanks to a 3-2 away win over Greystones. Jason Healy and Michael De Witt hit the back of the net for the Wicklow outfit, but it wasn’t to be their day.

Arklow United continued their good run of form with a 4-2 triumph away to Knockmitten United, with Richie Neary bagging a brace, Aaron Healy finding the net and an own goal completing their tally. Elsewhere, Wicklow Town AFC edged out St. Patrick’s AFC in a seven-goal thriller (see focus match).

Division 3

In the only game in Division 3 at the weekend Carnew AFC and Dearg Celtic came away with a point apiece after a 2-2 draw.

Eoghan Dolan and Jonathan Smith scored for the hosts, with Michael Murphy netting both goals for the Redcross outfit.

LFA Youths Cup first round

Jamie Lambe netted an extra-time winner for Roundwood AFC as they edged past Arklow Town 3-2 in the LFA Youths Cup first round.

Roundwood were twice ahead, through Gavin Fogarty and Conor Devlin, but goals from Clayton Murphy and Jack Molloy forced extra-time.

John Tobin Youth League

Avonmore put daylight between themselves and the chasing pack with a 4-0 win over previously unbeaten Ashford Rovers in their John Tobin Youth League top of the table clash.

The prolific Oisin McGraynor netted a double, with Mark Cullen and Jack Manley adding a goal apiece for Avonmore, as they built up a five-point lead at the top of the table.
