Bring your car to DMB Autoworks on the Station Road, Dunlavin, on Saturday, November 18, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. All proceeds from the Carwash will go to Camphill Communitie­s of Ireland.

DONARD CRAFT FAIR

A Christmas Craft Fair in aid of Donard National School takes place Sunday, November 19, from midday to 5 p.m. Lots of unique crafts and come visit Santa.

‘FACE THE SHORT KICK’

Dunlavin GAA will host Richard Lynch’s hilariousl­y funny and deeply moving play ‘Face the Short Kick’ on November 24 in the Imaal Hall, Time 8 p.m., price €15. Tickets available in Ed’s Fruit and Veg or from Louise at 087 2236216 or James 085 1274139.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

Dunlavin’s senior citizen Christmas party will be held in the Imaal Hall on Sunday, November 26, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Invites will be sent out in the coming weeks.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

The 2017 Dunlavin Christmas Lights Ceremony will take place on December 2 at 6 p.m. at the Market House. Everyone welcome to come along to the mulled wine and mince pie reception and join the school choir for some carol singing.

CHRISTMAS FAIR

JIVE/WALTZ

Jive/Waltz Dance Classes will take place for four weeks starting November 6 at 7 p.m. in the Imaal Hall. Everyone welcome. No experience needed.

DAY CARE AGM

The AGM of the West Wicklow Voluntary Day Care Committee will take place in the Baltinglas­s Day Care Centre at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15. The monthly meeting will take place at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8. New members welcome.

CULTURE BUS

Day Trip to Kilkenny City – Leave Dunlavin on December 2, at 11 a.m. Hot lunch and tour of Butler House and Gardens followed by tour of the New Medieval Mile. Cost €35. The rest of the day can be spent at your own leisure. Depart from Kilkenny at 6 p.m.

Day Trip to Dublin – Bus will depart Dunlavin on December 17 at 11 a.m. Everyone free to do what they want for the day, visit a gallery, shop, soak up the Christmas atmosphere. The Snow Man film will be showing in the National Concert Hall at 2.30 p.m. if anyone wants to treat grandchild­ren. Purchase your own tickets for this event. Leave from Dublin at 6 p.m.

SHOEBOX APPEAL

FARM SHOP

Cinderella Camphill Farmshop will now be open every Thursday 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., situated in the Barn on the Park Lane, Grangebeg.

TEEN SCENE

Dunlavin Teen Scene has recommence­d on Fridays in the Parish Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will continue every Friday during school term for the year. We are affiliated with Foróige and offer young people in our community a safe place to socialise, try new things and develop their confidence.

The group is open to teenagers age 12-18 and allows young people to make friends and memories. Feel free to drop in any Friday evening and see what is involved. annual registrati­on fee is €20 and weekly fee is €2. The friendship club meet in the Parish Centre on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. All new members welcome. If you have a neighbour or relative that might benefit from the club please bring them along.

MUSIC LESSONS

Music lessons are ongoing in Donard National school on Thursdays at 8 p.m. – tin whistle, flute, fiddle, banjo, concertina, accordion. Beginners welcome.

TRAD SESSIONS

A slow Trad Music Session will take place in Meitheal Cafe on Wednesday, December 6, from seven to 8.30 p.m.

LINE DANCING

Line Dancing continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic.

CLINIC

TD John Brady will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the second Monday of each month from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All welcome to drop in. Wednesday 2.15 to 4.15 p.m. New members always welcome.

SANTA’S VISIT

Santa will be visiting Hollywood on Saturday evening December 2 – more details nearer the date.

TIDY TOWNS

Our AGM will be held on November 21 in the centre at 8 p.m. New faces are always welcome. Work mornings continue on the first Sat of the month meeting at 10 a.m., again new faces are always welcome.. Please like and share our Facebook page to keep updated on our progress and what’s going on.

The club bowl every Tuesday and Friday nights in the Hollywood Centre between 8.10 p.m. New Members’ are always welcome, so come along and see what it is all about, it is a great way to spend the winter nights.
