BIFE’s junior choir’s debut performance at Bray Library

- BY MARY FOGARTY

The young people of the newly formed BIFE Children’s Choir had their debut performance recently at Bray Library.

The boys and girls aged eight to 12 sang a lively and fun repertoire of songs under the direction of Artemis Kent.

The children take classes on Monday evenings at the music centre on Florence Road and have been working hard to prepare their concert.

BIFE make up students were on-hand to create ‘ Thriller’ looks for members of the choir.

Under the umbrella of Bray Institute of Further Education and Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board, Bray Music Centre has been providing instrumental, vocal and musicianship training in the Bray area for 32 years now.

Boasting teachers from the Dublin music colleges and regularly performing artistes, it attracts an excellent standard of student from a wide surrounding area.

Full and half scholarships are offered every year in violin and piano on a competitive basis. A Music Festival is held annually and winners perform at the Prize-giving Concert in the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray.
