Mairead presented with award for work with Toastmasters
MAIREAD Dillon from Greystones Toastmasters was recently presented with a Distinguished Service Award for her contribution to Toastmasters International Youth Leadership Programme.
For the past six years, Mairead, along with her colleague Brendan Haughton, have been the drivers of the programme through their work with Transition Year students.
They have done this both locally and in other city centre locations.
She has travelled throughout Ireland and provided training to other Toastmasters interested in running the programme along with delivering workshops in the UK. Mairead has thoroughly enjoyed working with over 300 students.
‘It has been terrific to see such an increase in the students’ confidence levels and to observe how they have applied their speaking skills in everyday life,’ she said.
