Woman had €10 of cannabis

-

A 21-YEAR-OLD woman found with €10 worth of cannabis in her handbag has until March of next year to pay €650.

Laura Clarke, 78 Avalon Drive, Arklow, was found in possession of the cannabis on October 31, 2016 on Arklow’s Main Street.

Speaking Arklow District Court last Wednesday, defence solicitor Pauric Hyland said his client was intoxicated at the time and didn’t remember how the cannabis came into her possession. It was Ms Clarke’s first ever offence and Mr Hyland said it was highly unlikely she would ever appear in front of the court again.

Judge David Kennedy adjourned matters until March 21 2018 and Ms Clarke will avoid a conviction if she pays €650 before that date.
