CARAVAN IS SEIZED

A CARAVAN valued at over €30,000 was seized as it passed through Ashford after gardaí determined it had been stolen from the UK the previous month.

On Monday, November 11, gardaí operating a checkpoint stopped a vehicle towing a caravan behind it at around 11.05 a.m..

Gardaí believed the number plates on the caravan to be false and suspected that it had been stolen. After making a number of inquiries, they were able to ascertain that the dual axle caravan had been reported stolen in Essex in the east of England on October 17.

Two males from Dublin were arrested at the scene and brought to Wicklow Garda Station for questioning.
