November 1992

-

Mystery still surrounds the identity of the Lotto winner who finished the year on a high note by collecting a cheque for £527,777 on Monday at lunchtime after purchasing the winning ticket in Baltinglass.

Speculation intensified in west Wicklow during the early part of the week after the winner, who chose to remain anonymous, was announced as a married mother of five children who had bought her ticket in Baltinglass.

The lucky lady would only admit to being from ‘ the Wicklow area’, leaving even the belief that she was from west Wicklow with a question mark over it.

While collecting the cheque, she told Lotto officials that she intends to spend the money on her family, investing her windfall to provide security in the future.

But she said that some of the money would definitely be spent on a holiday and on changing the family’s car.
