GAA promotion play-off

-

There was heartbreak in Laragh last Sunday as the Kilmacanogue GAA Senior team travelled there to face Intermediate Champions Hollywood in the Division 1B Runners-up play-off. After finishing behind Kiltegan in the league, it was a three way shoot out which came down to a winner takes all on Sunday morning but Hollywood proved that little bit stronger with a 4-05 to 1-09 score line. However, this was a great league campaign by the lads in senior football ranks and they can be very proud of their efforts all season. a cracking Luke Kelly freekick. However, Greystones came out fighting in the second period and snatched two quickfire goals and despite the glens brave efforts, they were not able to get an equaliser. However, the second leg is to come this weekend and the team are well capable of turning this tie around.

The seniors travelled to the Phoenix Park on Sunday to face Frankfort FC and came away with a 5-1 victory. Nathan Watters is on fire at the moment and scored his second hattrick in a week with Sam Kerr and Ian Devlin also hitting the net. Ian was only back from Liverpool that morning but put in a great shift in midfield along with Nathan and Alan Hill.
