ATHLETIC CLUB NOTES
The Parnell Athletic Club AGM will take place Wednesday, November 29, at 7.30 p.m. in the Ann Devlin Annex at the rear of the RDA hall.
We travelled up to Navan Race course for the Leinster Novice and Even Age Cross Country, with a small turnout of our members. Running for the county were under-12 Ellen Kennedy and Ava Breen; under-10 Hugh Keaney; under-14 Edward Byrne and Joel Kenned; under-18 Dillon Tarmey; Novice Women Síle O’Byrne and Annmarie Kenny; Novice men – Donal Flannery. Also a big well done to Ellen Keaney (under-16) on winning county team gold.
WHIST
The prize winners at the recent whist drive were: Top Score: M Haughton and R Murphy; second M Murphy and Curran; third J Vickers and P. O’Flaherty; fourth S Brady and M WhelanR. affle: M Conroy, B Kennedy, M Whelan.
Next whist drive will be held on Wednesday, November 29, at 8.30 p.m.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The annual general meeting of the Rathdrum Development Association will be held on Tuesday, November 28, in the Ann Devlin Annex at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome.
BINGO
Bingo will be held as usual this Friday evening in the RDA hall commencing at 8.30 p.m. Great prizes on offer each week. Avondale GAA ClubNo jackpot winner, six match two winners. Ann McDonald (Rathnew), TJ and Kate Fitzpatrick, Carmel Cullen, The Breen Family, Aoife Yorke and Avril McDonald. Each winning €35. Numbers drawn were 5, 7, 9 and 11.
Next week’s draw takes place in the Railway at 9.30 p.m. €2,800 up for grabs, have you got your ticket yet? Thank you all for your continued support. The AGM is taking place on December 1 in the clubhouse, all welcome.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Preparations are under way for this year’s switch on of the Christmas lights. Our volunteers have been working really hard to make sure all the lights and Christmas tree are ready for December 2. This year promises to be the best, we will have a Christmas Market from 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Lots of family fun starting from 3 p.m. with our local school choirs, announcing colouring competition winners, Avondale voices, Arrival of Santa, official switch on of lights, meet and greet with Santa. Our raffle lines are in all the shops and we are also calling door to door over the next week so please support us if you can.Our raffle will take place on the night. Lots of other surprises planned on for the night so please come along and celebrate the start of Christmas in Rathdrum.
