Learners get recognitio­n for hard work

THE Sunbeam House services celebrated the QQI (Quality & Qualificat­ion Ireland) and OCR (Oxford, Cambridge & RSA) awards ceremony in the Royal Hotel, Bray last Thursday.

Over the past two years learners worked hard on a variety of courses and this was a night of recognitio­n and celebratio­n for the hard work and dedication shown by students and tutors.

As well as in-house training there is also SHS facilitate­d Crossroads classes funded through Genio and VEC supports. These courses enable people of all learning abilities to achieve certificat­es in subjects they have an interest in and allow better opportunit­ies to secure work in their chosen field. Participat­ing in these courses helps to build confidence, encourages social connection­s and develops skills that can be used in everyday life.

Organisers thanked presenters Florence and Gerard as well as all the staff who worked tirelessly on the course work and organising a great night.

DJ Gerry Byrne provided an evening of lively entertainm­ent.

Learners worked hard to receive 64 certificat­es and two full general learning certificat­es.
