- By MARY FOGARTY

THE Ryan family from Bray are set to jet off to Lapland on the holiday of a lifetime this Christmas courtesy of Bray Retail Park.

The local retail park gave away this prize worth €4,000 in conjunction with Sunway Holidays in the run up to Christmas.

Dad Eric entered the Find the Elf competition in Bray Retail Park on the Southern Cross road and was selected to take part in the grand final event with five other families on Saturday, November 25.

Lucky dad Eric represented his family at the event, taking part in a ‘Crystal Maze’ style finale to see how many snowballs he could catch while locked inside the giant Bray Retail Park snow globe.

Eric, Michelle, Ellia (11) and Ava (7) from Bray are now flying out to visit Santa in Lapland on Friday, December 1, courtesy of Sunway Holidays.

The Ryan family will visit Santa’s Lapland village and post office where they can meet Santa Claus and Rudolph. They will also enjoy a husky sleigh ride and snowmobile adventure.

Saturday’s grand final was held in Bray Retail Park as part of the Christmas ‘Letter to Santa’ event.

Local youngsters got the chance to post their letters to Santa in a giant letterbox under the watchful eye of Mrs Claus herself.

And Mrs Claus guaranteed that all children posting letters will get a reply from Santa Claus.

Mrs Claus was accompanied by her elves, entertainers, a snow machine and there were lots of family photo opportunities with the Bray Retail Park giant snow globe.

‘ This event was a great opportunity for families to start the Christmas season together,’ said Paddy O’Connor, Asset Manager, Bray Retail Park.

‘Families are at the heart of all of our events at Bray Retail Park, something that was in evidence at both our Letter To Santa Day and our Halloween Spooks Parade.’
