Warmer homes scheme

-

WITH temperatures dropping as winter arrives, now is the time to think about insulating your home.

The good news is that you could qualify for free home insulation if you are a low income home-owner living anywhere in County Wicklow, or surrounding areas.

Bray Area Partnership’s Warmer Homes free home insulation scheme is now open for applications. It’s easy to apply and services include attic insulation, draught-proofing, cavity wall insulation, lagging jackets and CFL bulbs. To qualify for the scheme you must own and live in your own home. Your home must have been constructed before 2006.

You must also be in receipt of one of the following: fuel allowance; family income supplement; one parent family payment; or job seekers allowance for more than six months, with a child aged under seven years. The scheme has insulated more than 700 homes since its set-up. Customers have said they found the workers friendly, professional, tidy and they cleaned up after themselves. See www. brayareapartnership.ie or contact the Warmer Homes team on 01 286 6080 to find out more. Nancy is a female tabby cat about five years old. She is so affectionate, and will follow you about, rubbing against your legs looking for pets. She gets on brilliantly with other cats and would be a great companion. She is just one of many cats here at the moment looking for a home. So If you are looking for a feline friend, do call in and meet them all.

If you can offer a loving home, contact the Wicklow SPCA at 0404 44783. A home vetting policy applies.

The opening hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4pm. and Sundays and bank holidays from 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Wednesdays).
