Indoor fun and camogie

Future camogie stars shine

YOUNG WHISTLERS - Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, Chill Mhantáin, will hold our now annual ‘Young Whistlers’ (Gaelic football) course on Wednesday, December 6, from 3.30 - 4.30 p.m. in Bray Emmets Clubhouse.

This course on December 6 will be for schools in the north-east region and will be coordinate­d this year by our Games Developmen­t Officers.

As places are limited please let Runaí Claire Frawley know as soon as possible if your school would like to participat­e. All schools have been emailed the details. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Schools are asked to send a fifth class boy and a girl on the day. Please forward Claire the names of the children involved and their parent’s names and contact numbers. We are also hoping to run ‘Young Whistler’ courses in both south and west Wicklow at another date. If you are in these areas and would like to take part please contact the relevant Games Developmen­t Officer - contact details are listed below!

Indoor Camógs - There were successful indoor camogie blitzes this week. In Shoreline in Greystones St. Laurence’s, Kilcoole and Newtown met. There were some fantastic skills on show and everyone had a great day.

Informatio­n on National Awards - The Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Cornmarket Awards are upon us again and now is the time to promote and showcase the great work your school are doing to promote our Gaelic Games and culture.

The awards event is a memorable and special night, which recognises the immense contributi­on that we as teachers give to promoting our national games and culture in our schools.

Please pay extra attention to category 5 which now can only be submitted in digital format and may be of great interest to many of you and your pupils!
