- REGIONAL HURLING

EAST WICKLOW BURREN RANGERS 9-09 0-02

THE final of Jonathan Tallon’s regional hurling tournament took place last weekend when the hurlers of East Wicklow took on Carlow’s Burren Rangers in Ballinakill.

East Wicklow got off to a flying start with Paddy Moorehouse hitting two early goals to set them on their way to a worthy victory.

Captain Mikey Griffin along with Killian Hogan and John O’Brien formed an unbeatable wall and it took Burren Rangers a full 30 minutes to get on the scoreboard.

A much stronger second half performance saw a young Cian O’Neill pitch in with an impressive tally of 3-01 on the day.

Eamon Keogh, another man showing promise for Celtic Challenge 2018, partnered Joe McDonald in mid-field where the two dominated for the full 60 minutes.

Final score: East Wicklow 9-09, Burren Rangers 0-02s.
