Meagan drafted on to Leinster senior women’s squad

-

WICKLOW RFC’s senior women’s captain Meagan Parkinson has been called into the Leinster women’s squad for the upcoming interprovincial series.

This is a wonderful achievement for Meagan who is such a brilliant role model for the many women and girls in Wicklow RFC.

Meagan takes her place in the squad with several well established internationals including Paula Fitzpatrick, Sophie Spence, Lindsay Peat and Sene Naoupu.

Naoupu, who plays with both the Ireland Women’s XVs and Sevens teams, currently plays her club rugby with Old Belvedere, having previously represented Galwegians and Connacht, and could make her Leinster debut next month. Sene is the wife of Wicklow RFC head coach George Naoupu.

Congratulations and good luck to both Meagan and Sene. Everyone in the club is very proud of you.

Leinster will begin their defence of the Women’s Interprovincial title away to Ulster at Dromore RFC on Sunday, December 3 (KO 2pm).

Leinster will face Connacht at home in Round 2 this year on Saturday, December 9, at Donnybrook (KO 5pm).

Their final game against Munster will take place at Thomond Park on Saturday, December 16 (KO 2.30pm).
