Andy McEvoy Premier 1

ST Peter’s moved back to the top of the Andy McEvoy Premier 1 table by overcoming Dynamo Dublin 5-2 at Little Bray Community Centre on Sunday.

The saints turned on the style in the first-half and raced into a 5-0 advantage by the interval, with James Verschoyle, Ross O’Brien, Jake Kane, Daniel McCann and Chad Ryan getting the goals.

The hosts then took their foot off the pedal somewhat after the interval, put despite the Dubliners pulling back a couple of goals the points were safely in the bag.

Meanwhile, Tallaght City got the better of Arklow Celtic in a goalfest, coming out on top 6-4. David Kavanagh, David Moorehouse, Paddy Walker and Lee Doyle got the goals for the Arklow outfit.

Division 3

Division 3 leaders Arklow United had to settle for a share of the spoils on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by local rivals Arklow Celtic. Chris Corrigan got the goal for the table-toppers, with Jay Rowland hitting the back of the net for Celtic.

Elsewhere, Avonmore FC moved into a mid-table position after edging out bottom side Aughrim Rangers by the odd goal in seven, with Andrew Browne (two), Kadir Aslan and Sean Whelan scoring for the winners.

John Tobin Youth League

John Tobin Youth League leaders Avonmore FC were on cloud nine on Saturday as they ran out emphatic 9-1 winners away to Wicklow Rovers B to continue their remarkable run of form.

Nathan Wynne got the goal for Rovers, but there was no stopping their opponents, who made it seven wins from seven, with four goals from Oisin McGraynor, a Jack Manley hat-trick, with Cody Reid and Dale Fluskey also hitting the back of the net.

Second-placed Ashford Rovers earned a 4-2 win away to Arklow Town, thanks to an own goal and strikes from Ruadhan Fallon-Verbruggen, Conor Diamond and Jamie Byrne. Chris Furlong and Luke Cummins replied with goals for the Arklow side.

Elsewhere, Arklow United proved too strong for Aughrim, winning 4-1 (see focus match).
