GAA CLUB AGM

Enniskerry GAA held a well attended AGM on Friday night last in their Clubhouse. There were no major changes on the Officer Board. Chair. Rebbeca Drew was praised for her great work and vision during her first year in office.

LIGHTS

The Enniskerry Christmas Lights will be turned on at the town Clock next week and Santa Claus will be there.

DARTS

Another good win for Powerscour­t Arms darts team last Tuesay night by score of 6-2. There will be a home games over the next two weeks including a Cup game.

WALKERS

The Enniskerry Walkers are still going out on Saturdays you can check the schedule on the Notice Board from the starting point at Windsor Spar opposite Town Clock.

Mass Times: St Mary’s Church: Weekday Morning Mass, 10.15 a.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Prayer Service: 10.15 a.m., Wednesday, Friday. Mass on first Friday of the month at 10.15 a.m.

Crosscare: Archbishop Martin is seeking practical support for a Parish Food Appeal this Saturday and Sunday for the Crosscare Foodbanks. Crosscare work with many individual­s and families throughout the Archdioces­e, who are struggling to make ends meet. The Food Banks provide support with essential food and household items. Items that are most needed at this time include: Shampoo and Hygiene Products, Soups, Tinned meats, Seasonal Biscuits, Cleaning Products. Items may be left in the Porch of the church on Saturday and Sunday and will be delivered to the Crosscare Foodbank on Monday morning.

Kilmacanog­ue senior citizens: The senior citizens committee are holding a Christmas fair in the Parish Hall, Kilmacanog­ue this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Home baking and unwanted new gifts can be given to any committee member before the fair which would be greatly appreciate­d. Later that evening the annual Christmas Dinner will be held in the Summerhill House Hotel at 6 p.m. This will as always be a great evening and the music will be provided by Cressendo this year.

Christmas Cards: In aid of Purple House (Bray Cancer Support) are on sale in St Mary’s Sacristy. €5 per pack of eight.

St Kevin’s Church, Glencree, Enniskerry – winter Months 2017 – 2018: The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered here for the Healing of All Generation­s at 3 p.m. on the following First Saturdays: This Saturday (December 2) and January 6, 2018, the feast of the Epiphany. A CLASSICAL CHRISTMAS

Enniskerry Concert Choir and special guest, internatio­nally renowned soprano Niamh Murray, present a wonderful Christmas musical celebratio­n. Traditiona­l and contempora­ry favourites, including O Holy Night, In the Bleak Midwinter, Silent Night, Christmas Angel, The Holy City, and many more. This musical event takes place on Saturday, December 16, and Sunday, December 17, in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry, at 7 p.m. Sharp. HISTORY SOCIETY

James Scannell, PRO of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, will be the guest speaker for the 8.30 p.m. Thursday, December 14, meeting of the Enniskerry History Society in the Powerscour­t Arms and Country House Hotel Society, at which he will present his illustrate­d lecture ‘They Went On Their Own: Dublin Firefighte­rs and Easter 1941 Belfast Blitz’. All welcome – admission €5.

002 BRIDGE CLUB

Friday, November 17, saw Maria Magee and Rowena Brady take first place for North/South, joint second/third were Rachel Judd, Molly Byrne, June Digby and Gaye McGettigan. First for East/West were Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger, second Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien, joint third/fourth were Jane Cronin, Gertie Fee, Maura Gaskin and Bridie Nolan.

Phil Kenna and Liz Belton took first place for North/South on Friday, November 24, joint second/ third Monica Brady, June Digby, Nancy O’Brien and Catherine McGillycud­dy. John Loscher and Rowena Brady were first East/ West, second Marian Davies and Teresa Leahy and third Gertie Fee and Jane Cronin.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Roundwood Community Games AGM will take place Monday, December 4, in Kavanagh’s Lounge at 9 p.m. Community Games covers a wide range of events, with limited man power we only touch on a few. If you have a particular area of interest and would like to give some time please come along to the meeting. Our annual fundraisin­g bag pack is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, December 15 and 16, in Dunnes Stores, Newtown. We need full support from all parents to make this successful weekend. ROUNDWOOD DANCE

The monthly dance in Roundwood Parish Centre will take place on Friday, December 15, 9 p.m. midnight. with music by the Wicklow man. Refreshmen­ts served.

MATHS LESSONS

Rebecca Delamere will be running maths classes for Secondary School students in Roundwood Parish Hall. Classes will be available for first to sixth year students and are designed to focus on common areas that students struggle with. Guaranteed small class sizes and places are limited. MONEYSTOWN DANCE

WALKING CLUB

The Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action every Wednesday evening meeting at 7 p.m. at the Coach House car park. Everyone welcome to walk at your own pace for approximat­ely one hour in and around Roundwood village.

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8 p.m. for the winter. Tea served.

SET DANCING

Set dancing continues on Thursday nights in KAVANAGs lounge with an addition of giving jive lessons at 8.15 p.m. before our weekly session at no additional cost. Music this month by Michael and Brian.
