LIGHTS ON IN ENNISKERRY!

-

Santa Claus made his way to Enniskerry aboard his sleigh last Sunday, to get the festive season started in the village.

Santa was delighted to see all the boys and girls of Enniskerry and the surrounding areas behaving so well.

There was face painting for the boys and girls to enjoy, as well as Christmas music.

The village tree lights went on in the evening, with a large crowd of onlookers enjoying the seasonal event.

Santa set himself up in front of the fire at the Schoolhouse for Art, and welcomed children to set with him in the grotto and tell him what they would like for Christmas this year.

Older fans of Yule fun enjoyed a bingo bonanza in the Powerscourt Arms throughout the afternoon. Prizes included Christmas dinner, turkey, concert tickets for Niall Horan and Taylor Swift, and vouchers for local shops as well as for Penneys and Avoca.

Shops stayed open for their customers right up to 7 p.m. that night, so that people could get some shopping done.

Meanwhile, the Christmas exhibition got under way at the Schoolhouse for Art in Enniskerry on Friday evening.

The launch included mulled wine and nibbles and then pieces of art were on display throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Everyone who attended the event had a wonderful evening in the picturesque village.

All of the businesses and organisations involved put in great effort to make sure that the locals had a fun day out.
