Damage to driving range during Ophelia

GREYSTONES Driving Range was damaged during Storm Ophelia last month, and owners Wicklow County Council had to quickly demolish a part of it.

District engineer Ruairi O’Hanlon said that the leaseholders could then run the facility at a diminished capacity.

He said that the area is secure and safe, and officials are looking at going forward with rebuilding it.

District Manager Michael Nicholson said that he is hopeful that claims via insurance and a fund for damage caused by the storm will cover the cost of replacing the damaged area.
