Stole groceries
ANN CONNORS of 3 Ballyhenry, Cullenmore Bends, Ashford admitted attempting to leave Dunnes Stores in Gorey with € 451 worth of groceries which she made no effort to pay for.
The accused, described by her solicitor as a 22-year-old married lady, was before Go rey District Court last Thursday on a theft charge. When first challenged, she provided an incorrect date of birth and gave her name as Ellen Conn ors.
Judge Gerard H aught on heard that all the goods were recovered and that Ms Con nor s’ s three previous convictions were for public order of fences. It was also stated thats heat tends a psychiatrist every week.
The judge put the matter back to the court sitting of March 1 explaining that this would allow preparation of a probation report, with a view to assisting her rather than as a punishment.
