LAKERS supporter Irene Sorohan cycled from Paris to Nice earlier this year to raise much needed funds for the sports and recreation club for people with disabilities.

Irene’s niece attends Lakers at the Brady Centre in Bray, so it holds a special place in her heart and she managed to raise a grand total of €14,044.34.

‘I was ridiculously proud of myself to manage the cycle but what I wasn’t expecting was that the fundraising would be so easy! Thanks to Lakers and other friends for being so generous – a final count of just over €14,000 was raised,’ said Irene.

‘Amazingly I have been back on a bike again, despite declarations during the summer to the contrary!’
