CAROL CONCERT
On Thursday, December 7, Ms Gaffney and Ms Maxwell held two beautiful Carol Concerts for the students, parents and friends of DCW in the magnificent Dominican Chapel. We were treated to a fabulous group of talented students with the Liturgical Choir, the fifth year Music Class and the School Orchestra all taking part.
Solos were performed by Rachael Millea, Aisling Murphy, Lisa Lennon, Áine Cahill, Mary Byrne, Leah Cronin, Lucy Phelan, Amber Bolger, Sally Crowley-Clare, Emma Hanlon and Sorcha Ffrench.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable concert and a great way to start the festive season off. Congratulations to all involved.
TY CODING
Mr Doyle and a group of TY students participated in the Hour of Code in IADT Institute of art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire on Tuesday, December 5. This is an international initiative designed to encourage secondary level students to take up careers in Technology. It was a very worthwhile day thanks to all involved.
MUSICAL
Tickets are selling fast for the TY production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Excitement is mounting and the girls are in great form for their shows which will be open to the public on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in Fatima Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets are available from Earl’s Newsagents and the school office. All TY’s are involved either onstage or backstage and it promises to be a great performance. We are really looking forward to seeing the girls on stage.
‘THE NUTCRACKER’
On Friday, December 8, a group of 24 students headed to Dun Laoghaire to see a special production of ‘The Nutcracker’ Ballet. Emily Carey in fifth year dances with the ‘National Youth Ballet’ and they put on a spectacular performance. The fifth year girls were delighted to show their support to Emily and they really enjoyed a fabulous day. Well done, Emily.
CHRISTMAS MOVIE DAY
On Tuesday, December 19, the fifth year LCVP class are holding a fundraising ‘Christmas Movie Day’. This year the fundraising will be for the ‘Tanzania Girls’. The girls heading to Tanzania have been very busy fundraising and are really looking forward to their trip. Thanks to the LCVP class for assisting them with this fundraising.

The student council is organising a ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ for Thursday, December 21.
