Large sum stolen from house

A LARGE sum of cash was stolen form a house in Glenealy after intruders used a ladder to gain access through a balcony door.

The incident occurred sometime between 12.10 p.m. and 12.50 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

One of the occupants of the house returned to find that their home had been broken into and nearly completely ransacked.

A ladder was found propped up against a wall, leading to an upstairs balcony.

The balcony door had been forced open.

It is understood that a substantial amount of money was stolen from the property.
