Greystones Library hours to stay the same

-

Greystones Library has been able to reverse plans to close on Thursday evenings in the New Year.

The library service had announced that, due to recent staff losses, they would have to reduce hours temporarily.

Ballywaltrim library will close altogether until staff can be hired, with a reduction of days in Wicklow town also. The plans included reducing the Greystones service by a number of hours on a Thursday.

‘I spoke to the library services and am delighted that Wicklow County Council are now in a position whereby they no longer have to reduce Greystones Library opening hours,’ said Cllr Jennifer Whitmore.

‘ This is great news as this library is a very valuable community facility.

‘I have also spoken to them about the proposed reductions in Ballywaltrim and Wicklow town and I know they are working very hard to try to resolve the staffing issues for those libraries.’
