Murphys’ mega lights in aid of Purple House

-

THE Murphy family of Cois Cairn have once again created a fantastic display of lights at their home to help raise money for Purple House Cancer Support.

Jacinta Kavanagh of Purple House was there recently to enjoy the official lighting up of the Christmas display.

Johnny and Mary Murphy and their family create the show each year both to create some festive spirit for their neighbours and friends, and to support such a vital organisation.

The Murphy family help Purple House throughout the year, getting involved in events, doing collections, and of course their Christmas lights.

They always go above and beyond the call of duty to help Purple House in any way they can.

Anyone who goes to see the festive display is asked to make a donation to a collection box of any amount they wish, and Purple House will collect the box early in January.

They have been putting up the display of lights at their home each Christmas for a number of years to raise funds for Purple House. Sadly, they took a break in 2014 as they mourned the loss of their late son Thomas who died in a tragic accident.

Their impressive collection of decorations has been built up little by little over the years.

The lights have been getting plenty of attention with visitors enjoying the festive atmosphere they create.

They will remain up until early January.
