Soccer action

-

The seniors were the only team in action last weekend and they remained top of their division with a fantastic second half display in St Patrick’s in Avoca where they recorded a 9-1 victory. The Glens started badly and went 1-0 down before Nathan Watters headed an equaliser and then James Delahunty gave the team a 2-1 lead at the break. However, the second half was an absolute pleasure to watch with the Glens a constant treat going forward with Nathan Watters hitting four more, James adding two to complete a hattrick and Dean McCormack netting the final goal to seal a victory and keep the Glens top of the league going into the new year.

On behalf of everyone at the club, the chairman Christy Devlin would like to thank everyone in the community for the fantastic support the club receives throughout the year and wish you all a very Happy and peaceful Christmas. As we all know, Christy has a very special contact with Santa Claus (as well as wearing the same size suits) and has urged him to be very good to all the clubs little Superstars this Christmas as they have been very good all year Santa and the last thing Mr and Mrs Claus want is Christy knocking on their door in the North Pole selling tickets and ‘Giving out’. Happy Christmas to all.
