-

CAR sharing company GoCar iscalling on drivers in Wicklow to trade old and unused cars for car sharing credit.

Their new car scrappage service called GoCar Scrappage which will enable owners of rarely used vehicles to trade them in for car sharing credit. This new offering is part of GoCar’s ongoing mission to make car sharing available to as many drivers in Ireland as possible, and encourage the public to consider car sharing as a flexible, sustainable and cost-effective alternative to car ownership.

The service is targeted at owners of older cars and vehicles which are largely lying idle but are costing significant amounts to maintain in terms of tax and insurance.

In contrast to car ownership, car sharing provides drivers with pay-as-you-go use of vehicles, free on-street parking, with no costs incurred for fuel, NCT testing, vehicle servicing, motor tax or insurance premiums. Anyone who is 21 years of age or over and has a full driver license can avail of GoCar scrappage and car sharing with car sharing bases now available across 19 counties in Ireland including Wicklow.

To avail of the new scrappage service, interested vehicle owners simply need to share their vehicle details with GoCar along with the vehicle’s scrappage value. GoCar review scrappage submissions and make an offer of car sharing credit which can be used across the full GoCar vehicle range including car, van and electric fleet. Drivers will also have the opportunity to drive one of 200 new 181 registered GoCar vehicles which will be added to the existing fleet from January 2018. For more information go to gocar.ie.
