Bryan Doyle appointed as Wicklow operations manager
WICKLOW GAA has a new operations manager this week after the appointment of former Wicklow County Council acting CEO Bryan Doyle.
The Meath native has been living and working in Wicklow since 1996 and has a long history with the St Patrick’s GAA Club in Wicklow town and he brings a considerable wealth of experience and knowledge to the position which he will hold for one year.
Wicklow GAA County Chairman Martin Fitzgerald said that he was delighted with the appointment, which was made and will be funded by Croke Park.
“I’m very happy with the appointment,” said Fitzgerald. “He is very professional and I look forward to working with him in the year ahead.
Bryan Doyle said that the role is a wonderful opportunity for him to work with the GAA clubs and people in the county and to try and to put flesh on the bones of the framework laid down by the Wicklow GAA Review.
“This happened very quickly this week,” said Bryan Doyle. “It’s a wonderful opportunity. The GAA review was written in a tight manner and I look forward to working with the County Board and the clubs.
“My ambition is that clubs would be stronger, whether that be football or hurling, ladies football or camogie.
“My focus is the next 12 months and putting flesh on the bones of the framework that has been put in place,” he added.
