TEAMS ON THE TRAIL OF TREASURE

-

MEMBERS of Wicklow Triathlon Club whizzed about Wicklow last weekend in a search for hidden booty.

The annual Christmas Treasure Hunt is one of the more fun events organised by the club each year.

Cyclists were formed into teams and encouraged to decorate their bikes with Christmas lights, baubles and tinsel. Santa hats and party hats were also proudly donned.

Each team was then given a list of fun and festive tasks which they had to cycle around and complete within an allocated time.

After plenty of toing and froing, the cyclists ended the day with lunch at The Chester Beatty Inn, Ashford.

Wicklow Triathlon Club now boasts over 220 members, plus their junior section.

Next year the club looks forward to organising the Harbourman Triathlon in Wicklow town in May.

The race generally starts with a swim in Wicklow Harbour, followed by an out-and-back cycle on the old N11 and finishing with a run through Wicklow town.

Members are also advised that if they don’t have valid club and TI membership, you aren’t insured for training or to take part in any events. Membership must be renewed come January 1, 2018.
