COMMUNITY GAMES

Help is needed to carry on with Community Games initiative­s such as draughts, badminton under-15, athletics and art. If any parent is willing to help out, please contact James Tomkins at 087 7606059 or Bridget Kenny at 087 4132843. Draughts is on every Monday night 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Askamore Community Hall.

COFFEE MORNING

Lip Sync contestant­s Askamore Belles are hosting a coffee morning on January 6, ‘Nollaig na mBan’ in Elma Buttle’s house, Drummond Lane from 10 a.m. to midday. Finish off Christmas with a treat.

JUVENILE AGM

Carnew Emmets Juvenile AGM will take place in Kenny’s meeting room on Friday, December 29, at 8 p.m.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Shillelagh Community Games - Time to get 2018 off to a flier. Indoor plyometric training for athletics (ages 8+) commences on Tuesday, January 9, in the Tinahely Community Hall, School Road, Tinahely every Tue till March 27. GOAL MILE

The Goal Mile will take place on New Year’s Day 2018 at midday in Tinahely. This is a national family event open to all to help raise funds for Goal’s work globally. The start and finish will be Murphy’s Hotel, Tinahely. Refreshmen­ts will also be served here afterwards kindly sponsored by Sam and Colin Horan. DECORATION COMPETITIO­N

Congratula­tions to Ballyellis National School pupils Bonnie Butler (Snr Infants) on winning third prize, Martin Kehoe (first class) on winning joint third prize, Maya Kavanagh (fourth class) on winning Joint second prize and Laura Kehoe on winning the overall individual primary school winners prize in the Christmas Recycling Decoration Competi- tion 2017 run by Wexford County Council. Laura was also winner of the People’s Choice Award.

The winners and their families were presented with their prizes at a prize giving ceremony at Wexford County Council, County Hall on Wednesday, December 20. Well done to all.
