This time last year I was talking about how 2016 had been a tough year for our family after my mum had gone through treatment for breast cancer and with my grandad passing away. This year I can thankfully say has been immeasurably better!

I turned 40 (which has probably been more of a curse than a blessing). I fulfilled a lifelong ambition by taking up acting and subsequently played Maggie in The Greystones Players production of Dancing At Lughnasa and I started my ‘Laura Meets’ series for parenting website The M Word, which I’m really enjoying.

My three children are getting older now so lie-ins are finally becoming a reality and my family are all healthy and happy – which, let’s face it, is more important than anything.

In 2018, I’d like more of the same with even more laughter if possible.

I would love to take Adam Burke from the Hardy Har Comedy Club up on his challenge of a seven-minute stand up set, although the thought of it scares the life out of me.

I’d love less violence and more love in the world and for Donald Trump to be removed from power and, if it’s at all possible, I’d love to do a one on one (interview) with Jason Mamoa (Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones).
