Sean Olohan Musician and Wicklow Lion

-

2017 was an interesting year when you look back over it.

The Wicklow and District Lions Club quizzes held on Wednesday nights did very well and we are all looking forward to the start of the quizzes again in late January.

On a personal note, I really enjoyed being a judge at the ‘Sounds from the Heart Song Contest’ which took place at Krakow, Poland. The competition is open to totally blind or partially blind singers and is held every two years.

It was a wonderful event and I had great fun. It was probably the highlight of my year.

From a business perspective, Christmas was really good sales-wise, one of the best years I can remember, certainly in recent years anyway. Vinyl is making a real come-back so I will be focusing more on that in 2018.

New Year’s Eve used to be the biggest night of the year for the band and we used to play all over the country. But after the millennium we decided not to perform on New Year’s Eve anymore.

Now I’m just happy to spend the night relaxing at home with my family.

For the year ahead, I just hope my family and friends remain healthy. I will be playing music at different venues in County Wicklow and elsewhere. I also hope to do some more recording.
