THE annual Houndogs charity clash at Rathdrum RFC took place on st Stephen’s Day and great fun and some entertaining rugby was enjoyed on the day.

A great crowd turned out to watch the clash with plenty of familiar faces on the battlefield and the sidelines.

The men of Rathdrum RFC proved too strong for the challengers, emerging from a fiercely contested battle with a 17-10 victory.

David Baker secured the Man of the Match award thanks to a devastatingly effective performance on the day.

A commendable €704 was raised in aid of Rathdrum Cancer Support so a huge thanks to all involved.

Special thanks have been offered to Simon Porter for refereeing the hard-hitting battle and ensuring a free-flowing game.
