-

A 65-YEAR- OLD woman is recovering from her injuries after being thrown to the ground and robbed by a mugger.

The man made away with the woman’s handbag and its contents following the attack.

The mugging took place right outside the woman’s front door as she was returning home from a shopping trip.

Gardai are appealing for information into the incident which occurred at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.

The victim had placed her keys inside her front door and was about to enter her house on Glendasson Close, when she was approached by a man dressed in dark clothing.

He wrestled and threw her to the ground before taking her handbag and getting into a waiting silver/grey saloon car.

The woman was brought to Loughlinstown Hospital, where she was treated for cuts and bruising.

‘She was left very shaken up by what happened,’ said a Garda spokesperson.
